Create In Izmir

Create in İzmir: Cultural and Creative Industries Digital Entrepreneurship Hub Project is being implemented in İzmir under the Competitive Sectors Program conducted by the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey.

The project, which started in September 2022 and will continue for 30 months, is carried out by İzmir University of Economics in partnership with EGİAD, İzmir Foundation, and İZKA.

The project focuses on all creative industries, particularly on information/software, design, and cinema/television that support digital games and digital arts in the Aegean Region, covering İzmir, Aydın, Denizli, Afyon, Uşak, Manisa, Kütahya, and Muğla.

The project aims to foster creative and innovative economic development by establishing an entrepreneurial ecosystem through enhancing collaboration between the Cultural and Creative Industries, the manufacturing industry, and the tourism sector. The goal is to increase and sustain competitive growth and development in İzmir and its hinterland (Manisa, Aydın, Uşak, Kütahya, Afyon, Muğla, Denizli).

What Are We Doing?

With the project, which is implemented under the Competitive Sectors Program conducted by the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey and co-financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey, the following aims are pursued:

⮚ Developing a creative hub model and coordinating collaboration between creative industries and other economic sectors,

⮚ Enhancing the capacity of SMEs and entrepreneurs to develop innovative products and supporting product and service development in cultural and creative industries,

⮚ Promoting the creative hub model and the cultural and creative industries, and strengthening the link between the creative industries and the manufacturing and tourism sectors.

In this context, the “Create in İzmir Digital Hub” is being established to facilitate cooperation and networking among creative communities. Through promotional and awareness-raising activities, the project contributes to strengthening İzmir’s city brand by fostering the development of the creative ecosystem in the region and supporting the competitiveness of SMEs in the relevant sectors at national and international levels.

The Create in İzmir Digital Hub, which is accessible to all SMEs in the creative industries, manufacturing, and tourism sectors in the region, will provide capacity-building services for advanced entrepreneurship and technical skills. It will also bridge creative communities with potential investors and facilitate interaction with international networks, leading to the development of the creative ecosystem in the region.
